Training and Empowerment Women Congress MB was founded in 2024 and annually hosts the Hispanic Women’s Congress of Manitoba in Winnipeg. Since its creation, it has aimed to inspire, connect, and empower women. This is a non-profit organization born out of a deep passion to address the critical need to unite the women in our community.
The idea emerged after witnessing the physical, mental, and spiritual challenges that migrant women face—especially when, out of fear of external judgment, they isolate themselves and face their struggles alone. Seeing this reality firsthand made it clear that action was needed.

With the initiative of Carmen Puente, and supported by a team of like-minded individuals and non-profit organizations from the Latin community, the first Hispanic Women’s Congress of Manitoba was created. The event was a resounding success, with all tickets sold out and around 180 participants in attendance.
After the congress, and in response to the participants’ and organizing team’s requests—who emphasized the importance of establishing an organization to continue hosting these events and promoting women’s empowerment regardless of nationality, language, or beliefs—this organization was officially founded. It was established with the support of three directors and a wonderful team who currently volunteer their time and wholeheartedly support the cause we lead.
Our journey has been one of growth, learning, and perseverance. But every step has been fueled by our strong belief in making a positive difference. We want to help women understand that they are not alone in their journeys—and that, together, these challenges can become more manageable and ultimately, transformative.
